Thanks to the attention given to the world of art, after a series of exhibitions dedicated to historically known artists, Cna gives space to emerging young artists from the territory. This time the CadeArt group begins a new co-operation with texts edited by Corrado Cati.

…In Francesco Petrosillo’s paintings, what immediately catches attention is the influence of his studies in scenography in Bologna, and the specialization in advertising graphics. The accent is on a dimension of fantasy. From every perspective the observer will remain with the impression of being faced with something in which all parts concur to equilibrium and harmony, both from a chromatic and structural point of view. We can actually recognize vivid subjects inside multicolored spaces, bright and surrealistic chromatic compositions that evoke Mediterrean journeys and coexist in respect of the eye.
This calibrated research, focused on a functional use of colours, can be found again in the representation of figures: because of a well defined graphic linearity which surrounds the volume, stand out intentionally from the flat background, whilst the movement and dynamism, which have always characterized Francesco Petrosillo’s works, the surrounding frenzy and plant their roots in a recognizable historic avant-garde.
What most interests us is underlining how the artists work is structured in a proportioned and correct method, how the composition is solid and precise and how his previous experience is important and revealing. I also feel that the concept of “fantastic and irreal research” present in Petrosillos paintings can be traced back in a certain way to M. Chagall’s aspirations through dreams, to reaching all that is magical and therefore in contrast to the tediousness of reality.
