In the artistic world, when people are driven by a common feeling, often arises an alliance which brings a vital expression of building and creating. Each artistic group, particularly in the 1900’s, has had its “movement“ stating its intentions and thoughts. It is so that it became almost essential, during that period of time, to belong to an idea or an attitude the most artistic achievable. Nowadays there are so many different shades and social characteristics which definitely speed up and shatter the ideas in such a way that it is not possible to share an intent clearly. It is in this temporal context that emerges this new symbiosis of different personalities and artistic backgrounds and origins. Nevertheless strongly united by the inspiration and the will to paint and sculpt, in other words, to work with and for art. Mattia Battistini, Riccardo Bottazzi, Francesco Brunelli, Simone Gardini, Roberto Pagnani, Francesco Petrosillo and Ilaria Siboni found themselves in a “place city“ where all their artistic passion and daring brought them together creating CadeArt. The common purposes that brought the founders of the association together are the intention to broadcast the artistic production of both group basics as well as the artists from different backgrounds and the willingness to propose the exchange of ideas and spaces with various artists who from time to time work with the association. To take advantage of places which are not agreeable to host art is another factor that constitutes the choices of the group, which seeks in this way to insert plain contemporary art in functional historical places of the city. The first exhibition, sponsored by the City and the Province of Ravenna, will take place at Rasponi Palace; the exhibition circuit will then continue in Villa Santa Maria in Foris Hotel, Central Palace Byron, CNA Ravenna headquarters, the Oriolo Tower and in other locations to be defined.

Tropical fish on wheels

05 May 2007 | La Carmelina Gallery – Ferrara
by Stefano Stevoli

Francesco Petrosillo

Francesco Petrosillo’s artworks will be exposed at “La Carmelina”, the art gallery and library in Via Carmelino, 22 from 5 to 31 March.  His artworks are  playful with their harsh colors and they use “poor art” techniques even if they’re  made on paper supports with sands  and  glues they’re characterized by his remarkable capacity of generating balance.  Which are his favourite artists? difficult to say, but Italian and foreign Futurism and Art Naïve appear in the list. At the moment  Francesco Petrosillo is painting colored tropical fishes that swim in seas which are never blue. They’re fast and  to move faster they use wheels which appear on the frames. These are wood made and look like an Ethnic – African inspiration. This is a pleasant and shocking art, playful, decorative , plastic and conceptual at the same time. It shows that the avant-gardes carry  academic elements in themselves and that these bounds can be contested with a colored simplicity ..

The Cultural Association CadeArt opens its third exhibition from the series “I Lunari della’Arte”, to be held on Saturday the July 28, from 7pm to 9 pm. It will take place inside Villa Santa Maria in Foris Hotel located at 61 Pasolin St in Ravenna. The exhibition is on until Saturday 22 July, everyday from 9am to 9pm. Artists: in the common areas of the hotel – Simona Gavioli, Floriana Savarino and in the roons – Mattia Battistini, Francesco Brunelli, Riccardo Bottazzi, Simone Gardini, Roberto Pagnani, Francesco Petrosillo.
To bring art directly into the intimacy of a hotel room is apparently an easy task, not so obvious though. For a long time t occurs in cities like Milan, Turin and Rome, and even before in cities abroad. The difference is that in our case Villa Santa Maria in Foris Hotel has been attended by a well-organised art group (CadeArt rappresentata da Battistini, Bottazzi, Brunelli, Gardini, Pagnani, Petrosillo e Siboni) plus two guest artists from Bologna (Gavioli and Savarino), which see the construction in a fresh and direct way, detached from sorts of rusty pedantic filters that are usually suggested by “fashionable” editors who are vaguely aseptic and often involved in these non-canonical exhibits. The artists from CadeArt have gathered, as in an artistic circle, for several times in the year, where they have discussed, designed, pursuing and achieving a neater and more honest thinking and work. Here they perceived how to create, or rather to paint, sculpt, photograph and prepare. The hotel, therefore has been metabolised up to the end, with harmony and freshness, and lived as a branch of a house idea. And here, as suggested previously, the idea of art is born and reborn, intendedly dedicated to the places where the artists become the main characters of this living and embracing space… The itinerant exhibition series “I Lunari dell’Arte”, sponsored by The Province and City of Ravenna, will proceed to Byron Central Palace, at CNA Ravenna headquarters and in other locations to be defined.

Lex Artis – L’ultima mareggiata

16 Nov. 2007 | Donelli law firm – Ravenna
by Ilaria Siboni
Event under the patronage of the Province and City of Ravenna

Francesco Petrosillo

The Cultural Association CadeArt presents the new art exhibition series “Lex Artis” which will be held at the law firm L. Donelli, D.Dal Monte, R. Vecchi at 29, C. Ricci Steret in Ravenna. The first show of the series opens Friday November 16 at 7.30pm, with “The Last Storm” by Francesco Petrosillo together with the acoustic cello performance by conductor Giacomo Gaudenzi. The exhibition will be open everyday from Monday to Friday from 5.30pm to 7pm.
CadeArt exhibitions in spaces like Rasponi Palace, Hotel Villa Santa Maria in Foris Hotel, both located in Ravenna, the medieval Tower of Oriolo in Faenza, bring art into a new unfamiliar place – a law firm. Certainly a laborious matrimony, nevertheless these series start carried by the idea of the most total art sharing experience. It will bring in exposure the the personal of the association artistic group, in order to allow a wider overview of their own work. Therefore, it carries on the idea of putting harmony and freshness the art of living spaces which are from time to time embraced and renewed by the artists and their work. Hence, in this case, a work place which concedes a space for art…
